Prepare your slides as a PowerPoint file or a PDF and bring with you a copy of the presentation on a data stick or other portable memory device.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You will not generally be able to plug your own laptop into the conference projection system. If you require special technology for your presentation please email\u00a0to the sub-section head as soon as you can and we will do our best to help you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Guidelines for Academic Presentations<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The time allocated for a presentation is 15 minutes, with a further 5 minutes allowed for discussion. Think in terms of the following slides:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A title slide \u2013 Name, Title and what the paper is about<\/li>\n<li>One slide with the hypothesis you want to investigate<\/li>\n<li>2 or 3 slides covering your current research plan<\/li>\n<li>You should not require any more than an absolute maximum of 10 slides \u2013 this would mean talking to each slide for only two minutes.<\/li>\n<li>It is generally distracting to the audience to have too many slides in a short presentation<\/li>\n<li>Do not put too much text on a slide \u2013 you want the audience to listen to you and not to be reading your slides!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>Guidelines for Work in progress and PhD Presentations (Poster presentations)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Posters will be on display for the duration of the conference and there will be a timetabled slot for contributors to stand by their posters so that participants can come and discuss the research. The Poster sessions will be grouped into 4 or 5 papers. Each presenter is given 10 minutes to present their work\/poster. There will be 5 minute discussion period between presentations for the session chairs\/discussants and all those present to provide feedback.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please, notice that the session chairs will have read your paper, but the other members of the group will not.
