Abstract: Nonverbal communication is an essential component of social interactions, contributing to the transmission of messages and the formation of perceptions about others. Among the elements of nonverbal communication is clothing, which functions as a symbolic language through which individuals convey information about their identity, social status, personality, and cultural values. The way a person dresses can influence others’ perceptions and contribute to the formation of first impressions in social interactions. This paper analyzes the role of clothing as a form of nonverbal communication, highlighting the psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of this phenomenon. The theoretical foundations of nonverbal communication are presented, and the main functions of clothing in the process of conveying social messages are analyzed. Additionally, the meanings of colors and clothing styles are addressed, as well as their role in building personal and professional image. The paper also analyzes the role of clothing in the organizational environment, where it can reflect the institutional culture and values of the organization. The conclusions highlight the fact that clothing is an important tool of social communication, influencing interpersonal perceptions, social relationships, and the professional image of the individual in contemporary society.
